Bbq and Jalapeno Shrimp

One of the first dishes I ever was really proud of were jalapeno-stuffed shrimp, wrapped in bacon, and grilled with BBQ sauce.  I decided to forgo the bacon tonight, but these were still pretty tasty!  Feel free to take an assist from the grocery store and use a bottle.

Bbq and Jalapeno Shrimp

Serves: 1     Time: 20 minutes     Difficulty: Just be careful slicing the jalapenos!

- 6 shrimp, peeled and deveined

- 1/2 jalapeno, cut into thin slices

- 1/4 c. ketchup

- 1 clove garlic, minced

- 2 T. grated onion

- 1 T. apple cider vinegar

- 1 T. maple syrup

- dash Worstershire

- dash hot sauce

- salt, pepper, oil

Carefully stuff the jalapenos into the back of the shrimp.  Season them with salt and pepper.

Combine the next seven ingredients in a sauce pan and let it simmer for 15 minutes.  Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Heat 1 T. of oil in a pan.  Add the shrimp and cook them for one minute on the first side, then turn them and baste them with the sauce.  Cook for 1-2 minutes, turn again, and baste the original side of the shrimp with the remaining sauce.
