Oh, kale, you trendy little leaf, you. Kale has popped up raw in salads all over the place on the restaurant scene in the last few years and is a key ingredient in the smoothies and juices that we're going crazy over. Of course, it's with good reason - thanks to the Food Network and shows like 'Top Chef,' we're opening up to a lot more foods than might normally be in our daily arsenal, and kale has tremendous health properties. Sneaking it into soups, stews, smoothies, and juices is a great way to ease into loving the bitter greens that we've shunned for so long.
Of course, even with all of these options, you might end up like I did: with a big bunch of kale left over that I was struggling to use up before it went bad. Crank on your oven and make this easy snack that you can take with you all week long to help you ease your salty, crunchy cravings.
The other beautiful thing is that you can flavor these any way you like - go for your favorite BBQ rub, or even a kettle corn topping. Other tip: the double-bake will help them stay crunchier longer.
- as much kale as you want!
- cooking spray
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Scatter the kale on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove them from the oven. Spray the chips with the cooking spray and add the turmeric, paprika, and salt by sprinkling it liberally over the kale and tossing to coat.
Return to the oven and bake another 15 minutes.
