Serves: 1 Time: 30 minutes
- 1 halibut fillet
- 1 1/2 tsp. Chinese Five Spice
- 1/4 tsp. each of garlic powder, onion powder, and coriander
- 1/4 c. noodles (soba, rice, or in a pinch, thin spaghetti)
- 1/3 c. broccoli florets
- cilantro, torn for garnish
- 1 1/2 T. soy sauce
- 1 T. Mirin or agave
- 1 T. rice wine vinegar
- 1 tsp. Sriracha
- 1 lime wedge
- oil, salt
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all of the dried spices and coat the fish on both sides.
Heat 1 T. of oil in a pan. Cook the fish for two minutes to get a nice sear and turn. Transfer pan to oven for 14-16 minutes.
Meanwhile, bring a large pot of water to a boil. Salt the water and add the broccoli. Cook for one minute, then remove immediately to an ice bath.
Add the pasta to the water and cook one minute shy of instructions. Drain and set aside.
Mix together the soy, Mirin, chili sauce, and vinegar. Set aside.
Remove the fish from the oven and set it aside to rest. Return the pan to the stove.
Add a little bit more oil if needed, then add the broccoli and noodles. Stir in the sauce to combine.
Plate the noodles with the fish. Garnish with the cilantro and lime wedge.
