Game Day Grapes

Hail to the Redskins....  While a diehard Bears fan, I still have to root for the home team when heading out to the game, right?  A few people actually appreciated my Bears jersey.  Now, with friends doing the meat cookery and grilling for our epic tailgate, I made a few snacks.   This recipe I tweaked slightly from one I saw on one of the cooking shows constantly on my DVR.

Game Day Grapes

- 15-20 seedless black grapes
- 1/4 c. gorgonzola cheese
- 1/4 c. cream cheese
- 1/4 c. heavy cream
- 1/2 c. walnuts, broken into small pieces
- 1/2 c. pecans, broken into small pieces
- 2 T. sugar
- salt

Rinse the grapes and set aside.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Pour the nuts evenly onto a small cookie sheet.  Toast in the oven for approximately 8-10 minutes, or until they become fragrant.

Combine the cheeses and cream in a food processor with a pinch of salt.  Pour the cheese mixture into a bowl.

Once the nuts have cooled, coat each grape with the cheese mixture by dropping them in and rolling them around with a spoon.  Transfer them tot the cookie sheet of nuts, rolling around to create a nut crust.  Store them in a plastic container in the fridge and off you go!
