Split Pea Slow Cooker Soup

I never use my slow cooker.  It just sits on top of my fridge, glowering down at me in its state of disuse.  Last night, I made a yummy soup overnight, and it couldn't have been easier.

Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup


- 1/2 lb. split peas
- 2 links chorizo, removed from the casing and crumbled
-  2 ribs celery, chopped
- 1 small yellow onion, chopped
- 1 large carrots, peeled and chopped
- 3 T. dried garlic, or 3 cloves minced
- 1 cascabel chili pepper, finely diced
- 3-4 c. of chicken stock
- salt
- pepper

Put all ingredients in a slow cooker.  Cook on low for eight hours.  That's it!
