Chocolate Banana Bread

I always THINK I'm going to eat the fruit I buy, but I'm such a savory eater that I just never do.  Good thing bananas are better for cooking once they're overly ripe!

Chocolate banana bread


- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter at room temperature
- 1/2 c. cream cheese
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/4 c. cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- pinch salt

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, blend together the sugar, eggs and butter.  Add in the cream cheese and vanilla.  Next, add the bananas.  Sift together the dry ingredients and slowly add in.  Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.  Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a butter knife comes out clean when inserted into the bread.
